Well we just arrived at the Edmonton Compound. We are happy to note all appears well here. We had a fun run over the weekend. Fun shows at Pumpjacks Saloon, Ottoman Lounge and The Ironwood. We also got to hit three of our best ‘on tour’ hospitality spots. Pumpjacks is a great little restaurant in Weyburn. Troy and his staff are top notch and they always treat us with huge kindness. And a steak. Which never hurts!
Saturday we hit The Ottoman Lounge for our third time. We finally had a small crowd out in The Hat. We were bummed to find out that the legendary Sean Davis was no longer with them but the new Manager, Christina and bartender Bo carried on the legacy, looking right after us! We got to crash at Seans house and catch up over a pop or two. Always fun.
Sunday we performed a Matinee in Calgary at The Ironwood Stage and Grill. We had a very small crowd but it was a great time anyhow. The one and only Chuckie showed up with the Vista Heights crew and, like always, good times flowed like wine, or tequila in this case. Our soundman was an old road dog who had worked with almost every notable act going from BB King to the Grateful Dead. Great guy and great sound tech. Here’s a pic….
I got to catch up with some old friends a this show which is always nice too! Thanks to the folks who came out. Afterwards we went to our Calgary compound at Michelle and Jon’s house. Their generosity is amazing and we want to always thanks them for letting us into their home.
We stopped at the grocery store. In Calgary it appears they name their self check out machines….
We’re halfway through an eleven show stretch. Tonight we head to Stony Plain which is only a few minutes form our Edmonton Villa. We perform two nights at The Early Stage Saloon. Looking forward to Shaking ‘Em on Down.
