Hey folks,
Well a while has past since my last post. I’ll blame sporadic internet connections…..
I’m in Kelowna at Starbucks. Got my head phones in but no music (as usual) to keep the nutters away. Works pretty well. We landed here on Sunday after our weekend in Kamloops….I’ll get to that in a minute.
We had a great time, as usual, at Blues on Whyte. Halloween was a crazy time. Amazing crowd and some pretty good costumes. We had fun Rocking it up and want to extend thanks to the staff there and of course our Edmonton pals who came out to the shows! here are a few costume pics…
We stuck with our Edmonton tradition of post work week tattoos by our pal Kris. Even ole Karl Bastard got one this time! The Gans Goose! Behold!!!
On Wednesday we geared up to head to The Early Stage Saloon for a show. We were extra excited as our pal Jens Jeppesen was in town and scheduled to open the show. Jens received our award we got last month for best blues album at the Music NB awards and was nice enough to drive it to Alberta for us. Thanks a lot Jens!!!!
Thursday we packed up from the Edmonton Compound to once again, Head West! First stop was Jasper. Typically good time. Fun Crowd and some serious debauchery! The latter made the long drive to Kamloops on Friday a real chore. Well that and the snowstorm!!! Gotta love Canada!
We rolled into Kamloops safe and sound. We play a small pub in the west end called Westsyde Pump. We had a real fun show here last time and we enjoyed two more this time. Super nice staff and some good dancers! Big Thanks to the Salmon Arm crew for making the drive up to dance! The second night we had a great conversation with “Sheila”. At 77 years old Sheila was still a handfull. Got some good life advice from her and really had a time laughing at her dirty jokes! Here’s a pic….
So lately we’ve been enjoying some home cooking at the Gans home here in the valley. We did a little bowling yesterday (I lost, Shawn Bastard whipped us bad) and I’m starting to feel recharged and ready for the next leg of the tour which is pretty hefty. We unfortunately had to cancel our Nelson show and MORE recently had to can the Halifax shows. We’re pretty bummed about this but are very happy to say we are booked for two nights (nov 16/17) at the Weigh West Pub in Tofino. This just fell in our lap and we should thank Tofino Mayor, Geoff Johnson, for putting it all together. Thanks Geoff! Our fun in Tofino is always off the hook so we’re looking forward to having a couple nights there!
So that about catches us up. If you’re in Kelowna this weekend we’ll be rocking the Blue Gator again and plan to have a guest or two on Saturday. C’mon out and get down will ya? And don’t forget about this coming Monday’s show. It’s at Bozzinni’s in Chilliwack…..Gone, Gone, Gone, Ya Been, Gone, Gone, Gone Ya Been Gone, Gone, Gone so long!!!!
Talk soon,
MB
