What a day yesterday was! We went over to Karl Bastard’s nieces place for some home cooking! It was Taco night and I don’t think I’ve ever had better! Huge thanks to Tori for feeding us! So Good. After leaving Tori’s we adventured on the TTC to head downtown and catch my pals in the Jordan John Trio at Joe Mama’s on King.
Jordan is one of the most amazingly talented folks I know and his band is PHONKEE!!!!
Jordan’s rhythm section is Al Cross (one of my favs since big sugars early days) and Prakash John (rocknroll hall of famer,p-funk, alice cooper etc). These guys cook it up good so when we got to the club and Jordan hollered for me to join them I didn’t hesitate. Jordan has recently added the B3 to his arsenal of musical destruction so I grabbed his Firebird and was getting some musical lessons in no time! What a time! I always learn so much when I play with these cats and I’m very grateful for their generosity on stage.
We’re heading back downtown now to visit Mark Richardson’s kitchen at Eight Wine Bar for what he claims will be the best burger we’ve ever had. We shall see.
