Hey my friends. I hope everyone made it through the xmas season and New Year A ok. We had a great time ringing in the new year with David Myles Band. After a bit of down time it’s back to work for me. I’ve been busy booking my solo tour for the first quarter of 2011 and am also starting to book our summer National tour.
We’ll be taking it a little easy in the coming months but there will still be some shows. Starting tonight we’ll be at The Snooty Fox in downtown Fredericton every other Monday in Jan & Feb so make sure you come down and check out some free live tunes. Check the tour dates section too cause there will be a few other Bastard shows going on in the area. If you live in Ontario MAKE SURE you check the dates. I leave this Thursday for my first batch of solo shows which is centered around the fifth Blues summit happening in Toronto. this is presented by The Toronto Blues Society. There will be buyers and blues nazi’s from all over the world at this and I’m mentally preparing right now to do some networking and schmoozing. I’m extra stoked to attend this conference again as I will be a guest panelist at the Social Media Workshop. Really looking forward to this. Iv learned a lot over the past year and I’m excited to share my stories and exchange tips form other great artists. I just found out Tom Wilson of Junkhouse, Blackie & The Rodeo Kings and Lee Harvey Osmond will be on the same panel. I’m a huge fan of Tom so it should be fun.
Dates will be posted at the end of the week for my Ontario “Residency Tour” as well. I’ll be in the big province for the whole month doing house gigs at five or six clubs so make sure you have a look see and come on out to a show!!! Right now the city’s look like Collingwood, Toronto, Port Hope, Lavigne and Picton. I’m trying to add one more so stay tuned. I’m stoked for this tour. I’ll be busy as hell but it will be a lot of fun!!!
I also want to remind everyone that this Wedenesday night at Dolan’s Pub is the annual Harvest Jazz n Blues IBC fundraiser. this year they are sending the wonderful Theresa Malenfant and her band to Memphis to compete in the Blues Challenge. Please go and support these amazing artist and enable them to live their dreams. Starts at 8pm and it’s only $10 !!!!
So I’m gonna leave you with this cool video that Shawn Bastard and Ryan McLaughlin did. It’s an original piece of art created by Ryan and then shot and edited by Shawn. It’s set to our cover of Howlin’ Wolf’s “Commit a Crime”. Thanks to those dudes for their hard work. Enjoy the video
